What is CryVision in FarCry?

According to the controls i press T for cryvision. But it doesn't do anything! What does it do?

I don't recall getting the "goggles" but eventually, cryvision will enable you to see otherwise invisible monsters.
Apparently you are not up to that point yet. When you encounter invisible monsters. you should then enable cryvision. it's sort of like night vision goggles in other games.

You get them on the first night mission where you start out on the beach. I think you find them in one of the mercenary huts. But I think they are very useful. Not only do I use them for the 'invisible' trigen but also to help see mercenaries better in the thick jungles. Sometimes they blend in very well so it is helpful to use the cryvision. If only the battery didn't get drained so fast...

IIRC the manual defines Cryvision = infrared + nightvision
