What is CC's REAL policy?

I went in to CircuitCity yesterday to PriceMatch Sam's on that 200 gigger. CircuitCity has 110% price difference policy. I don't care about the rebates since they take forever. I just wanted walkout price of $249 + Tax - 110% pricematch to sam's $159 walkout price. I figured it'd come out to same or a few bucks cheaper then Sam's walkout price.

The manager tells me that he can't do it because CircuitCity's price after rebates is cheaper. So I goto another lcoation. Same story.

Today I went to the third location on my way home. Instead of Price Matching right away. I ask the customer service girl how Price Match works. I ask her if it's based on the walkout of the store price. She said yes, she thinks. Then she calls the manager 🙁 the manager comes over. I ask him if say BestBuy had something cheaper then CircuitCity after BestBuys's MailInRebate then would he PriceMatch. He said no because it's after MIR. So i said MIR's don't come to play when PMing. He said no. SO I said, "ok, here" i give him the CC's reciept and the SAM's product price scan. He tells me he can't because CC's price is cheaper AFTER mir. I'm like WhatTheFvck? From what I could gather. If another stores price is cheaper then CC after rebate then CC does not PM. I told the guy, the $100 rebate is from CC not the other $50 that's manufac. And If I apply the manufac to Sam's also then Sam's is cheaper. (it actually wasn't, Sam's would still be 9 bucks more but I'd be playing taxes on l$150 not $250 so in the end Sam's would be cheaper, not that Sam's had a rebate., it wouldnt matter since I was only trying to reason with him) He said still NO.

Bottom line is: the CC's in San Antonio TX won't pricematch anyone else's rebates NOR their walkout prices if CC's price AFTER CC's rebates is cheaper then their walkout price.

CC is pissing me off. All the managers pretty much said that even if other CC's did PM they wouln't. I asked them aren't the policies NATIONWIDE. They all said yes but still wouldn't PM even if others did. I hated San Antonio. Now I hate it more. Gonna try Austin next.

The CS girl is wrong, it's based on final price, not walkout of the store price DaviDaVinci, most B&M retailers are like this 🙂
 
I've always thought it was out the door price. If Staples has CDRs for 9.99 after a Staples rebate, will CC PM that?
 
I was over at FW's and a bunch of them got the PM.

I went to 3 different locations. If it IS indeed based on final price then why won't they pm othrs prices after others MIR's?

I have a 100 gig right now and have 1 gig left.

Mostly mp3's, home videos, and pics, papers, stuff i've done for businesses (menus, business cards) I've collected over the years. Deleted all the prOn last year, when I ran low on space. Now I'm low again 😉

I ordered that Newegg External USB2.0 case so i could store all media on it and use it as a portable. I actually bought 2 of those 200 giggers. one for backup in case I lose the portable or it gets damaged. Home vids and pics of friend's/families can't be replaced. Nor can papers and other personal stuff I have. 🙁 hard drives on the other hand can be.

Exactly, Sam's price was walkout, no special offer, promotion or rebates. I can understand if it was another store's MIR. The way i read their policy it applies to the OTHER stores rebates.

So WhatTheFvck?? The girl told me that CC's rebate can take 3 months. 'IF' i ever get it. Meaning that if CC had something and it was $100 then they had a $20 MIR. Say BB had it for $90 walkout. Now with my luck, CC will not give me PM. So according to them, i'm getting a better deal (i'll save like less then $10 since i'm paying taxes on $10 more) How is waiting 3 months for $10 a better deal. By that time the price would have dropped probably even lower the way tech items go.

I can understand from their PoinfOfView because they can get away with a lot and save $. But then they should take this quote out of their poicy "Nothing's worse than paying too much. That's why we do everything in our power to make sure you don't pay a penny more than you should for anything you buy at Circuit City." Because it's a load of sh!t.
