What is better, your work computer or your home computer?

Probably my home PC, but its a tough call, depending on the app.

Work PC: 2.53ghz P4, onboard video
Home PC: 2ghz P-M, Geforce 6600GT

They are pretty equal but the home rig has a slight edge in terms of RAM and video card.

Work: P4 3.4Ghz, 1GB, Ati x800
Home: Athlon x2 4200+, 2GB, 7900GT

Both are plenty fast and I don't really notice a difference in regular usage.

I had a nice run at the WORST work computer out of all Anandtechers a while back, when a thread was posted some time ago.

Still running the same POS @ work, although the TSA found some old memory laying around and covertly installed it for me without telling her boss.

P-2 350, or was it 366? I don't know.

It's slow, and I get a couple "low memory" errors each day.

They're upgrading me... "by August" - to... (get ready)... a whopping P-3 hand-me-down.

All that said, it runs the work apps and I am able to get what I need to do completed... barely.

A newspaper or book on hand is a must with that beast. For the record, it is an IBM-PL 300. Pretty sure that's the model.

edit: home PC is still the same old Athlon 2700 with a gig of ram and a Radeon 9600.

work computer is a Dual Core Intel and 2gig of DDR 2, home is Dual core AMD w/ 2gig of DDR1.

But my video card is better then the IGP 🙂
