What is better, XBOX or Wii?

I am a huge Zelda fan so the nintendo system is perfect for me. That is not to say the Xbox 360 isn't a quality system. It completely depends on your tastes. I love Nintendo games, its just that simple to me. Just my tastes. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate what the Xbox has to offer.

graphics do matter. (why are the nintendo component cables in such high demand and going for $150 on ebay. ) obviously people do care about graphics.

btw get both. 360 runs about $320 used /new with deals and wii will probably be about $200 after christmas rush is over.

Wii, 100x Wii. Xbox 360 doesn't have any good games. The Wii has only been out for a few days and it already has more exclusive titles that are worth playing than the 360.

the wii has no games that have gotten above a 9 on gamespot

the xbox360 has five

ouch

Didn't they give Zelda a low score based on outdated graphics and sound? Lame reason, if you ask me 😛

The Xbox 360 is nice and all, but since the only games on the console that attract me are shooters, and I just play shooters on my PC, I feel no need to get an Xbox 360. Yes, I know, Gears of War is supposed to be awesome, but it is also supposed to be really shorts. Looks like a rental title for me, if anything. And no, the multiplayer does not intrigue me as that is what the PC is for.

The Wii on the otherhand, offers some fun, new, experiences. I love Zelda, and Red Steel is fun (but, not worth above a 9). Wii sports tends to drag non-gamers into playing the Wii, which I find fun. I am looking foward to all the big Nintendo titles, such as Metroid, Mario, amd SSB, as well as some games that aren't part of a big series.

However, I don't think of the Wii as a standalone console. If you are a hardcore gamer, I advise pairing the Wii with another console to get a much larger field of gaming. Many times, I get the urge to play astonishingly pretty games, and for that I go to my PC. Eventually, I'll get a PS3 (the library is luring me in like crazy).

So, I suggest pairing the Wii with either a 360 or ps3, depending on your taste in games.

XBOX for lonely acne boys wanting the "best" graphics while playing games all alone..

Wii for people who don't really care about graphics and who just want to play games every now and then... wii is for people who would rather be outside doing something, but instead for some reason is chilling inside with a few friends (who may also be members of the opposite sex 🙂..

If super realistic graphics is your thing, the wii is not for you. Wii is more about having fun..

Just my opinion.. could be wrong..

ps. for times when I want to be alone and want realistic graphics.. I use a computer..

actually the wii is for physicaly inept nerds who cant ever go out into the sun and play real tennis or ball, and have to settle for a virtulization of it. :disgust: see your stupid comparisons can go either way.

It's been out a year and it only has five games that scored above a 9? Ouch is right.

The reader reviews gave Zelda a 9.4 (about 2000 people) and the other review sites gave it a 9.4. I think I'd trust the vast majority of other reviewers over Gamespot's low score of 8.8.

If you watch GameSpots On the Spot video of the Wii, you'll see the various game reviewers of that site lack any type of hand/eye coordination. So who cares about any of their review scores.

Two very different systems intended for different consumers.

The 360 has better graphics. Maybe it's just me, but I've seen a LOT of people complain about the thing breaking or destroying discs. I'm really wondering how many of these go bad.

The Wii has an innovative controller, and is cheaper. From the looks of it, many non-gamers will enjoy this console. Some people are having trouble with the firmware update.

http://www.gamerankings.com/ shows average scores garnered from a bunch of different sites.

If I'm using their search engine correctly (with 20 reviews minimum), only four Xbox 360 games have gotten over 90% (Gears of War, Oblivion, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, and CoD2).
Only one Wii game (Zelda) has hit over 90%, but there's only 3 games total that have 20 reviews.

No PS3 game has hit over 90%, even if you set the minimum number of reviews to "1". I have to admit, I'm surprised by that.

Keep in mind that the only ones likely to review games are, well, gamers. The Wii is hoping to break into the non-gamer crowd. If you have the average non-gamer play Gears of War, they're going to spend about 2 minutes trying to figure out the controls and then they'll just say "screw this!"

Best console? PC - World of Warcraft, Dungeons and Dragons Online. 😛
