I am trying to decide what brand I should go with in buying a scsi card. What is the best one out there? I need one for my system. The scsi card will function as a controller for a harddrive and a cd burner. The card has to be 32bit pci compatiable.

There are many chooses from adaptec to tekram.

I need suggestions.

thank you

Adaptec 29160N, Tekram DC-390U3W, and the LSI Logic SYM21040. The Tekram and LSI cards are 64-bit pci, but they work fine in 32bit pci slots. Personally I would go with the Tekram or LSI and save a little cash, even if they are 64 bit.

um.... 64bit is good. backwards compatible with 32bit, and when used with a 64bit slot, it will be able to use the extra bandwidth provided by it.
