What is "B" piping on a exhaust system?

I believe it is the pipe running from the exhaust header to the catalytic converter. I could be wrong, though.

My guess would be that:

header -> cat. converter = a
cat. converter -> muffler = b
muffler -> end (tip?) = c (or normally called tailpipe).

If it's a Honda:

"A" goes from exh manifold down vertical, 90 degree to horizontal.
"Midpipe" is between "A" and cat.
Cat is next.
"B" is next downstream of cat.
"Muffler set" is last.

A-->mid pipe-->cat-->B-->muffler set.
