Hey, my apologies if I offended anyone with this thread. I don't have definitive evidence stating that certain members are AEG agents. I suppose some of this stems from my overall frustration with some of the fanboys. That one quote I posted still strikes me as odd, however, and other members have tended to agree with me that something may in fact be going on there.

In any event, please don't take offence to any of this. I was more curious about what would happen regarding this issue than anything else. Banning people is up to the mods alone.

we do know for certain AEG moles are on every board. . . . AEG isn't the only viral marketeer . . . from that other thread we know nVidia has advertised openly for an "in house" Viral Marketer Director . . .

ATF at the top is aware of this . . . i am certain legal advice has been sought . . . in fact, viral marketing may be illegal pretty soon . . . hopefully

so . . . my advice . . .

Seriously guys why bring Rollo into this.

He has made it clear many times that he works for a Software firm. Not only that while during the X8xx series he made it clear that he was unhappy with ATI's generation and was quite pleased with Nvidias, this generation he seems to be just an average member.

The people creating problems in that situation are you guys. Stop singling him out (along with other people). That is what creates the problems in the first place. If you disgree, fine that is what Forums are for, however stop attacking the person and start discussing the topic. A lot of you are mature adults, even those who aren't should at least make an effort to be.

As for marketing, i have noticed that too. I dont think it should be allowed in the forums by anymeans, however does anyone have any way to prove that they are marketing agents and not just fanboys (aside from them using basic grammar correctly)?

The *only* reason I made this thread was out of curiousity pertaining to AEG members.

I did *not* intend to single people out, I was simply giving examples of people who may or may not be AEG members.

Also they have made it clear that Video forum, for the most part is on its own.

i meant no proof of being on the take. that doesn't mean we can't hope for some moderation of the day to day fanboy wars.

when i said no proof= no action i was referring only to the viral marketing situation. i was not saying that nobody should be banned or vacationed because we can't prove they are getting gifted hardware.

the hopes of better moderation all around would cut down on all the crap that makes video practically useless. ban all the flamers, trolls and nuisances but not because they on the take as we cannot prove that.

i dunno how else to say it.

it takes an explosion and a string of explecitives [defeating the word filter] a mile long to even wake the [part time] Video Mod.

IF the rules were enforced - EVENLY - and increasingly more strictly . . . there would be NO personal attacks and NO ridiculous FUD and NO flamefests.

but then maybe AT likes it that way . . . as a "release valve" for GH . . . much as P&N functions for OT. 😉

Heck, for all i know, all the Mods have alternate names and regularly post their own outrageous flames there.

I realize you're trying to get feedback from the mods about the official stance on AEG-type forum members. I'm sure you will not get any feedback because there really is nothing anybody can do. The rules of the forum are based on behavior and not the motivation for that behavior. And that's the problem I have with most of the attacks on Rollo, but that's a different discussion altogether.

Bringing up specific people and examples in your OP wasn't a good way to keep your thread ONLY about AT's stance on AEG. Bringing up Rampage should be the subject of a different thread called "Don't fukcing thread crap in threads where you have nothing to add to the discussion!" Again, I have no idea what the motivation behind his posts was, but his behavior was that of a troll. I responded to him as politely as I could to explain how his post wasn't relative to the topic in any way, yet he continued to post his junk. AEG work? No idea. Trolling behavior? You betcha. But, alas, I can't follow him around all day and keep him from looking like an idiot. I already have a full-time job.
