What is Amazon's return policy? does anyone have any experiences?

They have the following two statements in their return policy

1) Eligible for return: Any item from our Electronics store or other stores in new condition with original packaging and accessories.

2) We cannot accept returns of opened items or items returned more than 30 days after delivery.

So which is it? If I buy a product from the electronics store (say, a Nomad Jukebox) and open it, may I return it if it is in new condition with original packaging and accessories? These two statements in the return policy conflict.
 
I've had nothing but good experiences with Amazon when it comes to returning merchandise. When i wanted to return a 27" tv (105lbs.) because it was damaged, they paid for delivery. Last week i returned a pair headphones because they didn't sound any good, so i went to their Returns Center and printed out a UPS return shipping label.
