What is AAA towing policy? Will they tow a car I'm looking into buying?

Just be sure the car is registered and you're with it. AAA National has a policy where they don't tow unregistered vehicles. Either no tags or expired tags count as an unregistered vehicle in their eyes. AAA won't tow any vehicle that isn't "street legal" in the area where service is requested. That said, you can explore the various memberships (Basic/Classic, Plus and Premium) that offer 3, 100, or 200 mile tows -- or more correctly, "roadside assistance" service calls -- 4x per year. "Roadside assistance" can be a tow, help with a dead battery, a rescue with gasoline if you went empty, etc.
