Besides ECS K7S5A...any suggestions? Something that can also be overclocked and is STABLE!

Epox 8KHA+ (VIA KT 266a) or if you want DDR333 memory support try the Epox 8K3A/8k3a+ (VIA KT333),all good overclockers.

I second the vote on the EPoX 8KHA+ or 8K3A+. I wouldn't get the 8K3A+ unless you have some very high quality memory, it's just not worth it. The ABIT KR7A seems to be one of the better overclockers as well.

From the information from Anandtech and other Tech sites + the forums, I decided on the EPoX 8KHA+ for my system and they persuaded me to part with an extra £30 for Crucial DDR (damn persuasive ppl, better be worth it)

But I will be buying the rest of my system on Monday and I will add my "2 cents worth" (shudders saying something American) when my system is up and running.

How about "two shillings worth"?:D

I vote for the 8KHA+. It is a wonderful board for this first time builder running Crucial DDR and an XP 1600+.

Yet another Epox 8KHA+ vote here. They're cheap as hell right now too.. probably the best board I've owned in the last couple years, problem-wise (none!).

One built on the Nforce chipset. :)

but stable and overclock. now that is a mismatch if i ever heard of one ;)

Epox MB seems to be the one to look at in this case.

I would go with an nForce for stability.

There was a review on Ace's Hardware a couple of months ago (may be longer - I forget) where they explored the overclockability of the nForce platform vs. the KT266A. I think the Asus board was fairly overclockable.

I have built several stable/overclocked system for customers as well as my own personal usage. I am sure many of you have as well. How is that term a mismatch?
