"In This Diary" by the Ataris really brings back a lot of memories about high school and care-free life in general, I love the lyrics to that song, they're so vivid. They talk about alot of stuff I used to do... just having fun with life and making memories. I also love the song "The Boys of Summer" by Don Henley (also coincidently covered by the Ataris). The song has a similar effect, and it just reminds me of days gone by and times I miss.

the song that means the most to me in all ways is Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach. That was the first classical song i can remember hearing. It happened to find itself in some very memorable (good and bad) times in my life from funerals, to plays i have been in to my wedding. The song soothes me and almost puts me into a trans like state.

And, there will always be songs like Eels - Can't Help Falling In Love (with you) because that was the song my hubby and i had our first dance EVER together at our wedding. Finally there are some "christian/catholic songs i hear that are meaningful because they have been played at important times in my life as well.

on the note of summer memories, Lostprophets have two summer songs, one entitled 'Ode to Summer' on their 'The Fake Sound of Progress' album (their best album, and not coincidentally their first), and 'Last Summer' on their follow-up album, 'Start Something'.
lots of summer memories and those two songs' lyrics really make me visualize those memories and just wish I was on some beach at night with some friends whenever I hear it. Specially since I still view my summer nights experiences incomplete since I have not hung out by a fire on the beach with buddies yet. So the longing for that experience to be shared with some friends makes the songs hit me even harder.

Little Black Backpack by Stroke 9.

At the end of freshmen year of college, easily the best and most fun year of my life, a bunch of friends(like 10) and I were hanging out in one of our dorm rooms the night before everyone went home for summer. This song came on the radio and for some reason everyone knew the words and started singing it and laughing our asses off. It was the cheesiest and one of the best memories from that year. Every time I hear that song it makes me smile just thinking about the good times I had.

Good Riddance by Green Day was our high school graduation song, but it really doesn't hold that much significance as I hated high school.

I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me was played at my grandfather's funeral and it was so powerful the whole room was soaked with tears after it was done. I still tear up when I hear it as it explains my grandfather's attitude toward his faith to a tee.

Probably the single most powerful Christian song I have heard. It just has the ability to connect with people on so many different levels and in so many different ways. Not to mention the incredible vocals.

Brother of Mine from Yes. Significant because it was the first song I can remember hearing and loving every second of (3 part song, as is usual for Yes) when I was young and didn't care that much for music. On top of that, I can remember hearing it being played at some very random places (while clothes shopping, at comic book stores, in retail/pharmacy stores) but never even knew who sung it or what it was even called. Eventually I found all about it and started getting into classic rock because of it.

Pearl Jam's "Yellow Leadbetter" once helped me thru a really bad experience. It's funny too because to this day I only really know a small fraction of the words. It wasn't about the lyrics, but just the feel of the music.
