i just pu a new speeze heatsink and fan on it and it is still running at around 53 degrees celcius . it seems a little high for my taste. This is my uncles pc and they said they were having random shutdowns so i replaced there elcheapo power supply and i am wondering if this operating temp is ok

The pc is used for internet , office, and playing sims

Thanks

that temp looks a little high, especially if that is idle temp
speeze heatsinks are cheesy
you can try lowering the vcore a bit, if it is still stable and temps are lower this might be what ya need

good luck

Is your heatsink a bubbling pile of molten metal? No? Then it's fine.

Seriously, 53 degress C is getting up there, but nothing to worry about. Those CPUs are known for being very hot and most OEM computers would run them at 60C all the time. They are rated for up to 80, I believe.

That temperature is fine as T-birds run hot!

The rating for t-birds is higher at 95C.

I would check your memory with memtest86. That generation of PCs was using a lot of dirt cheap generic memory.
