What is a realistic overclock at stock voltage to expect for E6300?

I know there is variation chip-to-chip when overclocking and a lot depends on other components but I'm wondering if I can get 7x400=2800MHz at stock voltage? I'd rather not push the envelope too much, that's why I'd like to keep stock voltage.

I'm going with P5B Deluxe motherboard, Seasonic PSU, and whatever RAM you guys recommend.

Is 2800MHz at stock voltage a realistic expectation?

2800 is fairly resonable goal for sub 1.4 volts

Your post should say seasonic PSU(i hope)

go for the gskill HZ series ram

Yes, Seasonic PSU, and I meant to say Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard!

Thanks

G.Skill HZ, Corsair XMS2, OCZ Platinum Rev.2, Team Xtreme DDR2-1000

Those are the ways to go IMO, look at your price options and go from there.

isn't stock voltage around 1.3 or so?

also, you may have probs with 1900XT and P5B. Be careful.

I have hit 3.03GHz on my E6300 and that is while the chip is undervolted by 0.05V. Amazing.

After testing my e6300 @ stock speeds for a day, I skipped all intermediate steps and went straight to 2.8 ghz w/ stock cooling and voltage. Stressed it for 10 hours with ORTHOS. Its getting a little hot at this point. Coretemp says its idles at about 58C and starts edging into the 70s with a full ORTHOS load.

Bios says shows about 20C lower though, and Im allowing the motherboard to choose my fan speeds so if you set your fans to full speed you might get better temps.

What motherboard, RAM, and CPU cooler are you using?

Undervolted 6300 - 1.225v core (CPU-Z reports 1.200V)
FSB 430Mhz (3010Mhz)
Gigabyte DS3, Ballistix 6400 RAM (4-4-4-12) (voltage upped to 2.1V) 2GB kit
MSI X1900Xt

Memtest, Prime, PI tests passed. Temps are 55-56C. Room temp is 80F. HSF Zalman Fatality (won at the contest, freebie) with a server rated fan mounted on the side panel of my Antec500 tower). Fan control disabled. With 1.225v I can't go beyond 450Mhz FSB without system crashing.

With default voltage, FSB 450Mhz I am pushing 59-61C > under load (core temp utility), but at this point I need a better cooling system.

I am happy with my undervolted 3Ghz system so far ( I upgraded my Athlon XP 2800+ (o/ced to 2.2Ghz).
