What is a multimedia controller?

My device manager is saying that i dont have a driver for my multimedia controller. I have a SBLive! 5.1 platinum. i put in all the cds that came with it and none of them have the driver for my multimedia controller. where do i get a driver for it? and could it be causing the distortion that my computer is outputting? its distorted before it hits the speakers

By any chance is it your Joystick Port?

you are proboably right. it is under other devices..thanks..do you have any clue why my computer is exporting distorted sound? Has nothing to do with EQ or the speakers
