is that to watch computer movies on your TV or something, and have sound with computer speakers? like some nice klipsches or something?

i read the faq on the link provided and it told me nothing

It is generally to provide high quality audio/video to a display. Its especially usefull for fixed pixel displays and front projection where the screen size approaches 100".

Its for a real home theater, not really for watching movies on your computer screen.

It's so people can watch all the movies and stuff they download illegally on thier TV instead of a little computer screen. There's really no point to it at all if you buy (or rent) your movies on DVD and buy your music on CD. You'd just get a CD player and DVD player and save the extra money.

Bah. I use mine for stuff I legally own. I have a 110 disc CD changer and a DVD player that hardly ever get turned on anymore because it's a hell of a lot more convienient to just rip the stuff to my HTPC. No waiting to change CD's, no getting up to change DVD's, plus everything looks and sounds better. And I can also use it to record TV and play video games.

Something that will be common place in every Home in 5 years

Why? I have a sweet Home Theater system, why wouldnt you want your computer set up for one? (i would much rather have an awesome set up with a 72inch flatscreen tv rather than a sweet setup on a 17inch flatscreen LCD)

Just my thoughts....
More like a Control Center for all your music, Movies, Internet, Remote Control X10 like devices, etc.
