What is a healthy normal resting heart rate?

that is pretty bad, but a little above the normal limit for Americans.

It also depends on your age.

I have a 35-40 resting heart rate, but I cycle, run, and swim.

**EDIT**
Also, I am still young.

Also, make sure you take your resting HR after a good long rest. That is the closest you will get to your actual resting HR.

Normal Values
For resting heart rate:

* newborn infants; 100 to 160 beats per minute
* children 1 to 10 years; 70 to 120 beats per minute
* children over 10 and adults; 60 to 100 beats per minute
* well-trained athletes; 40 to 60 beats per minute

The more I read, the more I become convinced that you are my evil twin, or a bot sent to impersonate said evil twin, or perhaps this has nothing to do with my evil twin and you've been sent here to kill me or perhaps you know something about me...what do you know?!?! 😉

<-- ~45bpm, maybe 50, and I am a triathlete (sprint, olympic distance and half iron man).

The heart of a normal individual beats re-flexively about 40 million times a year. During this time, over 4000 gallons, or 10 tons, of blood are circulated each day, and every night the heart's workload is equivalent to a person carrying a thirty-pound pack to the top of the 10 -story Empire State Building.
:Q

there is a 10 story empire state building?!?

An athletes heart is often up to 50% lower rate, due to basic cardiovascular conditioning. A heart rate of even 150 can be normal for newborn...and well over 100 during exercise no cause for alarm. Its only if you have other symptoms, or heart is tachycardic (beating too fast) to compensate for some other problem that high RESTING heart rate a big concern.

I come from the future. I am you 5 years from now, to warn you of the coming destruction. Hahahaha.

Are you asian and were you born on the east coast and moved to the southwest? Because then I would be very, very scared. Still can't do a triathlon though, my swimming skills are atrocious. But I enjoy swimming nonetheless.

That is what my friends who cycle with me say. I have only been seriously riding for 1.5 years now, but already I am passing up guys who have been riding for 7+ years and are in good physical shape. Ehhh, chalk it up to me pulling the good genetics from my dad. He and his dad (my grandfather) are real freaks. It is scary what that old man can do.
