What is a good way to test memory for stability?

I just got a new memory stick and I want to be sure it is a good stable one. I have had bad sticks in the past and I didn't know they were bad until some apps would freeze about an hour later.
So what is a good way to stress test memory?

First, you can go to bios and disable "quick boot" or whatever it is called in your bios. This way the bios will test the memory at boot.
If the memory is faulty, it will show already at this stage.

Secondly, to "stress test" you can simply load any of number of test tools available. For example Sisoft Sandra
from: Sisoftware

Sandra also gives you all other nice info on your computer. Not propaply most reliable test, but enough to stress the memory!

You can try this as well. It will perform much more indepth testing of your memory. Warning: It can last up to several hours....
