Do you really need the portability of a macbook? Since you mention this is a hackintosh replacement, sounds like you just plan to use it at your desk? If I had to lug a MBP around daily, I'd opt for 13" over 15".

It's too bad Apple doesn't sell a monitorless desktop solution between the Mac Mini and MacPro.

this hackintosh is a laptop, so i'd definitely want another laptop. thing is, with this laptop, the battery blows and i can get like an hour max when actually using it, so i'm constantly keeping it plugged in when in the main spot, but even if i bring it downstairs to watch a football game or play games i have to bring the plug cause it will die.

this laptop is 15" too, no way i would want anything smaller cause i need the screen real estate.

the guy on craigslist isn't responding and i saw another posting on craigslist that was nearly identical to his, same location, model, and mentions graphics card model, as well as down to apple care expiring in april 2018, however it says 27 battery cycles on it. in email he told me it had 2 full cycles on it. so i think it's probably shady in general so i think i'm done with that anyways.

will probably end up just ordering it from adorama this week. been doing some development this past weekend and while i've done a lot of development on this machine, the resolution is starting to bug me because i have to look at a lot of docs cause i'm using stuff i've never used before, and having this low res bothers the shit out of me.

27 vs 2 isn't a huge difference, the battery is rated to maintain at least 80% of original capacity for 1000 cycles.

Yeah but why lie and make 2 listings and not respond to my emails, just seems shady now

Apple's infamous for never discounting their stuff, I wouldn't hold my breath for BF. Maybe free or discounted Apple care, but that's about it.

okay thanks. yeah i just don't know the trends of the macbook prices at all, and if it was common to see some kind of heavy discounts around BF, i'd probably wait since this isn't really a "NEED" at the current time and is more of a "WANT" lol.

although the resolution on my hackintosh is starting to become a hindrance for me since i'm using storyboards for the first time with ios app development, and the low res i have sucks for navigating around it.
