What is a good DOS emualtor for older DOS based games?

I never liked dosbox but have nothing really against it.

I use just XPs dos emulation with VDMSound for old SB emulation personally.
Works fine for all the games ive tried, kings quest.. monkey island, loom, maniac mansion ect
 
I need to start doing this.

Doom95 took care of me for a while, but I'd like to get back into Raptor and Duke3D. Ascendancy was a good one too, but I need to find first.
EDIT: Does anybody remember Vengeance on Talos IV? Did they get sued or what? I cant find that game anywhere.

The source for Duke3D was released sometime back, and I believe there are Windows/Direct3D ports of it available.
