My mom wants to get a dog, but she wants something small enough she can control on walks and stuff. She was thinking a poodle but I think something slightly bigger woudld be good. Any ideas?

Poodles come in all sizes from toy to pretty damn big. If that's the breed she wants she'll have no trouble getting one that's exactly the right size. Labs are my favorite midsize, but that might be a handful for her. They're very energetic. If she wants something that won't outpace her on walks how about a basset hound? Those things couldn't outrun a turtle.

Although a little smaller a rat terrier is a good dog. If you are lazy they are lazy if you like to run around they like run around.
Though they still got energy..A lot of it :)

toy poodle. i have one that weighs 20 lbs.
they are also very intelligent, and don't shed therefore aren't a source for allergies.

i think they are good dogs as well, but they are too intense...very demanding of attention etc and can be dangerous by accident they tend to snap etc even if they arent trying to hurt you

this is not true

pit bulls do not snap

they are the most intelligent guard dog and unfortunately end up being used for fighting which is not their purpose but ends up being how they are portrayed.

Pit bulls are really nice dogs. My friend breeds them. He has a rare blue nose pit bull, and that dog is extremely smart, and a really sweet dog.

They aren't as bad as the way most people portray them. Of course, when someone is attacked by a pitbull, ITS NEWS!!1!! But if its any other dog, no one cares.

must be the ads are user specific. i didn't have a penis enlargement ad when i clicked on the site. you must be in the group they are targeting.

way to discredit your own source with a failed ad hominem attack lmao

edit: lol wikipedia

How about a Beagle? My cousins have two, a male and a female, and they are great dogs. They don't shed a lot, they're obedient and they don't bark... too much.

Border Collie was going to be my suggestion for a medium sized dog, they are smart too but VERY high strung and ACTIVE!
