Just a reminder that all 50 Fuji Rebates are no longer being honored past 11/9/00. Only exceptions are if you have an original rebate form.

First off I'd like to say Mmoose, you are wrong, for a good snap shot cam, i'd say a print out from my s100 is about as good as most consumer level APS cams. Not 35mm but most APS cams i've seen when developed dont look that great. An ofoto'd s100 shot is very good. Also lastly the guy who counted in his $150 amazon certificate as a discount, well i've seen a lot of people say that was part of a good deal, but that is a code you can use on anything, its like saying if you were given a $150 amazon certificate for xmas and spent it then a fuji finepix 2400 only costs $50. Also the rebate doesn't work anymore

Winky: you don't have to wait to get film developed, you can do it at home(i do).

hans007:aps camera's are sh!t. They are made for the people who need that little paper clip thing in word and warning labels on coffee cups. I agree that digital may have some advantage for putting stuff on your computer, but if you want to get a good print then you gotta spend beacoup bucks for a new printer, ink, and special paper. for the price of my camera (canon rebel 2000) i could take >500 (about 1000 b/w)pics before you get yo your 1st digital picture of the same quality.

Mike: If you don't have to wait, then why didn't you give me those pictures yet??? Also, what about color? And, can your film hold up to 150 pictures?

Skaven - Wow that's a nice quality picture, I ordered the Fuji Finepix 1400 for $49 from Amazon.

What does the 1400 have that the 1300 doesn't?

the 1400 has a lens cover, a 3x zoom, and is bigger. Looks more like a camera though. The 1300 is lighter, and cheapr though. Also Majestic moose, for maybe a pro SLR user type a digicam probably isn't anything unless you get the new olympus 4megapixel or something. But for a college student like myself, who doesnt like going to get prints, and waiting and wanted a small camera, a digicam is great. I always put stuff online and do e-bay auctions, etc and wanted a small cam, which mean either APS or a digicam. Since i dont really make too many prints and wanted to have that "well i'm not wasting film so might as well take a shot " feeling, i bought a digital, since if i bought an APS i would have to buy a good scanner for $100 and scan photos in , that take a while to develop, not to mention APS cams aren't that great, but you really cant get a small pocket camera that isn't APS now. Besides i'm a computer geek i had to have a digital one.

winky:I could develop color i'm just to lazy to learn. and if i wanted to i could give you those pictures tomorrow morning(it's 10pm now). so you think you camera can hold 150 pictures of the same quality as film, no way. I got pockets, i can change a roll in the time it takes your digital POS to take 2 pictures and i can take them 5 times faster, do the math mr. "calculus is fun". Just to prove to you that film is better try making a 16x20 prints, I'll blow your @ss outta the water. oh wait your printer can't do that. oh well you suck. winky don't argue with me about cameras and i won't argue with you about computers, actually i will but you'll win anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Mwink: You really should of listened to some of these people's advice. You could have gotten the Fuji Finepix 1400 for $235 shipped from Solutions4Sure.com. That is exactly what you payed for the Fuji Finepix 1300 and the 1400 is a significantly better camera.

TheJackal - Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better about my $49 Fuji Finepix 1400. I can't wait to receive it.

What brands of compact flash media are recommended? I think I'll either get two 32's or one 64. I want the best brand at the best price (and I don't mind rebates).

edit I just read the Fuji Finepix 1400 specs and it says it comes with 4MB SM. So I can't use CF with this camera, right? Bummer.

jakcal , the $50 rebate isn't being honored anymore, so they wont let you have it unless you have a real paper copy of it. It was supposed to go till 1/31/2001 but supposedly fuji said something about market trends (cameras getting to cheap basically) so they pulled it and had all the stores selling the camera pull the rebate. Also rossman, you can get a 64mb smartmedia, its probably in the $100 range using a deals and such maybe $90
