What is a decent and cheap B&W laser with auto duplex?

I would like to replace my Canon i850 with a laser printer. I would like it to be black and white and have auto duplexing. I don't really want to spend much and would like to keep the price at less than $250.00.

I was thinking about getting either a Brother 5150D or a Brother 5250DN. What do you think of these? Any other suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

I think Brother laser printers offer very good quality and features for their price. I have the 6050DN and have some friends who got the 5140 (no duplex). Once in a while I get a page that gets creased when using duplex (which is almost always), but otherwise no problems.

It's my opinion that HP makes the best prniters money can buy. I've supported Lexmark, Cannon and Epson and none of them even came near the HPs for ease of setup and more importantly, reliability.

Thanks a lot for your help.

jroad, I plan on using the duplexing feature most of the time. Almost every time I print anything. How bad is the problem of pages getting creased? Do they get folded into a bunch of pieces, or along the middle? How often do you get the problem?

ValuedCustomer, what HP models do you recommend? Are there any within my price range, or not too far far?

Thanks again.

Thanks ValuedCustomer.

I was reading the reviews and it seems graphics are pretty slow. I will not be printing any large, full page graphics, most of the time. I will be printing a lot of mixed documents and a lot of web pages. Most of these will have lots and lots of column and row divisions, and some small logos. I will also print out a lot of web pages. I will rarely print out just plain black text.

What speed could I realistically expect with low cost lasers?

Thanks again.
