What is a decent 2.5mm cell phone headset?

I have bought two Plantronics noise cancel headsets for my cellphone's 2.5mm jack, and people say both sound like I am in a windtunnel and its almost impossible to stand.

WTF? What can I buy that just *works*.

I would rather not spend more than $40 but I will go higher if I have to (??)

I also don't want bluetooth (already have one, dont use it for various reasons).
 
40 bucks for a 2.5mm headset .. why not jsut get the Plantronic voyager or something.

it's around that price and it's bluetooth 😛 great battery life.
Stop trying to go old school 😛
 
I don't want bluetooth. Anyone got any ideas? Surely someone uses a wired headset that works?
 
1) I *always* forget to charge it. 2) I have a car system, this would be only for home 3) I have two phones, so I want to switch fast 4) I have BT HS and it doesnt sound good either
