Just got a new ipod today.. *SO SHINEY*.. what should I use to protect it?

Would like to be able to get it in and out of my pocket with ease....

What do you guys use?

best is supposedly the iskin evo but there is not one available for 4G ipods

i ordered a non apple one from the the applestore for the meantime

but it did not ship with my ipod 🙁

i am afraid to use it till i get a case

but i do have a 10G 2nd gen to use in the meantime 🙂

yeah, i was hearing that the EXO2 was the best.. but I am affraid its made out of tha Rubbery stuff.. if it is, I would think it to be hard to put it in your pocket.

For my 3rd gen 20gb iPod I am using an Exo from Lajo and I like it a lot. It's a glow-in-the-dark blue skin that glows green. There newer styles like the Xskn from the same guy. The products are great, prices are decent, but the web site leaves a little bit to be desired.

As was said before, many of the skins are made of silicone, which would possibly make it hard to get in and out of pockets, but I don't have trouble w/painters pants.

I've found the SCREEN is the most sensitive, damn if the stereo plug itself scratched the screen within a few minutes of putting the unprotected iPod into my backpack temporarily.

You could also check out ipodlounge.com or ipodding.com for reviews/forums, etc

Good luck...

I currently use a Lajo Exo2 with an iShade screen protector. The buttons are a bit hard to hit, but it protects the iPod great. I'm thinking I may have done better with just an exo or an exo3, though, since I don't really need the "MEGA CRASH PROTECTION!"

I started with a leather case from xtrememac (which I still use when I need to clip the iPod on my person), but as I wanted something lower profile I bought a xskn from Lajo. I really hated it so I got this Body Mask: http://www2.ocn.ne.jp/~bbshop/iPod2003.html I got it in black with the 4 corners covers, though I don't see them in that picture. It's about as low profile as possible because it's a sticker so I can pocket my iPod with ease. It comes with a screen protector and elminates the slippery feel of the naked iPod. It doesn't pick up lint, it still fits inside my leather case and the only part of my iPod that's currently exposed, with the exception of the interfaces are the 4 function buttons. It's perfect for me. Hope this helps!

...forgot to mention that my Exo came with 2 screen protectors, definitely a key item. My skin does not cover the buttons or scroll wheel, which I prefer.

I think Lajo was the original creator of the iSkin, but apparently broke away from his business partners and had a subsequent legal battle over the design, product name/patent etc, and he's now on his own. He was actually banned from one of the message boards (ipodlounge I think) for too many promotional postings, so I'm not a big fan of the guy when it comes to his business ethics, but I've been pleased with the product.

Check out the iPod Art skins at his web site!

(end of rant.)
