I met my fiancee on Jdate (jewish dating site). We're both jewish by heritage, but neither of us are religious in the slightest. It's kinda amusing.

I've paid for eharmony and match.com. I thought they both sucked.

There is a site out there that lists reviews of people who have used the personals websites. It seems very informative.

When I am single again. I highly doubt I will be using the internet dating websites again.

why don't you just go out into the real world and find a woman???????? If you are that repulsive to go out don't think the internet hook-up is going to work
for you either.

It doesnt have anything to do with that. I go out all the time and meet women but when Im bored at home....why not browse a few profiles and send a couple emails. Im not doing anything but F APPing anyways so why not.

Which is, of course, a KEY difference compared meeting women in 'real life' - where they never lie.

No only lie but have like super high expectation on the person they want, money wise and other things.

I signed up for the trial of eharmony and it sucks majorly in practice, even though in theory it is great. The problem is that it takes forever to get all your crap in there, and when you do, you discover there are like 5 women within 200 miles who are a match for you, and 3 of them immediately ignore you because of how you answer some trick questions they send you that you find totally irrelevant. And the other two are horrible matches that they obviously put in so they don't get sued for falsely advertising a certain number of matches a month.

someone i know told me they didnt like it because it takes a long time to finally talk to someone because they send you all this questions from the person you are interested in.

which points out another sad fact. On line, women tend to JUDGE men and reject them for very superficial reasons. There is no way you can possibly get to know someone without a face to face meeting. Sure, you can tell if he or she has a way with words and maybe even get an idea of their level of education but there is no way to tell if there is chemistry or not or if you'll click or not. Only a face to face meeting will tell that.

And also on the subject of honesty, I have to admit that if you aren't politically correct in describing what you're looking for, you don't stand a chance of finding it. For example, I am not obese and I don't want a mate that is obese. But if I put that in a ad, all I'll get is hate mail from the female porkers out there.
Sadly, honesty can work against you.

Which would be fine if at the end something actually happened or they had a sample size more than 5 people in a 200 mile radius.

It's not where I live, it's the BS system where you get "less matches" but "higher quality". I actually included enough of a mile radius for all of milwaukee in addition to madison (where I live) and still barely got any matches.

Dear Noob,

Think for a minute about being in someone elses shoes. Perhaps they dont live in a metropolitan area with a strong singles scene any night of the week. Perhaps they work second shift. Perhaps they have a million other reasons why it is difficult for them to meet new people.

Thank you in advance for refraining from being a closeminded noob prick in the future.

Best Regards,
