I know that a lot of them are dishonest in that they send you bogus emails which you'll never recieve a reply from. I suspect that some actually pay female members to hit on the males. I also know that once a profile is posted, it's there forever. Even long after someone is no longer available.

Are there any that are honest?

I had a good experience with match.com. Met my wife there, believe it or not.

Have heard decent things about match.com. eharmony is also an option, though I hear it's awful spendy. Guess that'll weed out a lot of the folks that aren't serious.

Gotta link? Never heard of that one.

Don't think I'll be considering eharmony. I haven't heard anytrhing that suggests they are worth the money they ask.

How about yahoo personals?

I've heard good things about eharmony and match.com

Paid access is a double edged sword, it cut down on people who aren't serious (my friends have a bunch of bogus personals, makes for some good entertainment sometimes) but the operators do have incentive to try and get you to stay.

Match.com worked best for me however american singles was a decent site. Stay away from platinum romance. I had a few people hit on me, but basically you can tell that someone is just spamming you.

Match.com seems to be the most open and honest one with yahoo a little behind.

Just make sure you put a couple pics up or you are wasting your time.

They're probably all just a way for chicks to grab some free drinks / food / tickets / money from you and then dump you.

it's a risky thing no matter which site you go to because people on the net tend to lie.

LOL, I do circulate but the picking are slim locally. I'm hoping to scare a few hens out of the bushes and out in the open and expand my horizons out maybe a couple of hundred miles. Of course, being on the coast is a geographical disadvantage because there'e not much in the ocean.

Yes, they do. I've never understood why because if you lie about something that's important to a potential mate, he/she will dump you and you'll be back to square one.
