The apparently (from the poll results) underutilized i3-530 O/C'd to ~3.6Ghz on the stock cooler at stock voltage. Running as a primarily living room PC, it sees very little 100% utilization so it stays cool enough (<40C). For the price of Intel's lowest end processor and ten minutes in the bios, the performance is unbelievable.

Recently upgraded my main system from a A64 X2 4600+ (socket 939 AGP) system to a Lynnfield-based Core i7 one. Hopefully this one lasts as long as the last one did. ;)

E8500 at 4Ghz.

It's holding out fairly well. Might upgrade by next Christmas, depending on how well the new sockets perform.

Intel Q9450, System not finished yet

Wow blast from the past.

i7 965EE is still hanging around but now i've added a 980x and E7500 as a server. The Xeon DP L5609 was shown the door though.

Like he'd finish that build. Didn't he brag about a dual 1366 and then POOF, never talked about it again? I guess he has piles of hardware that is never used?

This poll is a little old... I no longer have the q6600 rigs. I've got an e8500 running, and an i7 950 sitting on my desk waiting for a board and memory to be teamed up with at the best deal I can find. Still have one dual Xeon (sossaman) rig going. My laptop is now a C2D T7200.

I have a Pentium 4 3.00 GHz which I think is a Northwood C, an i7 920 and my laptop with a Pentium SU2700. The Pentium 4 is in a 7 year old computer which sounds like a blow dryer and that horrible noise is the main reason I replaced it with my current i7. That SU2700 is also starting to annoy me with its performance. I might look at getting a cheap Ivy Bridge-based laptop when they come out.

Posting from a Pentium-M 1.5ghz running @2.0ghz :)

I got one of these, except it's not overclocked, because it's in a laptop. Even stock it's not entirely stable. :\

i7 920 @ 3.2GHz, bclk@200mhz so that memory runs at rated 1600mhz. I'm loving it :)

i could of sworn it was 3 intel ssd's in raid 0.

My raptors in raid 0 arent that bad compared to the SSD's.

E8400 OC to 4Ghz (air) in my machine. It's been stable since December 2008...

i3-530 @ 4Ghz (air) in GF's machine. Stable since March 2010.

Both machines used for gaming. No audio/video encoding/decoding, so no i7's used yet.

IMO once you want more than two drives you NEED a host. Forget about motherboard fake raid. It's not worthy! :D

Well at least you did not put OCZ in your system. ;)

Get an 1880 and join the club over there at XS. Heck the IOP on that card gets hot enough to be water cooled! :D
