I need a good board for intel pentium 2.4 chip.Im not going to be using anything on board.Have hercules sound card. Logitech ti 4400 video card and network card and modem. I do not really care if the board has firewire.Would be nice if it has but it will not be bassed part on my decision on what board to get. Have currently looked at this board.

edit:forgot to mention that i have pc 2100 ram so the board needs to suppor that.Have 512mb so don't wante to speend money on new ram link

Why not an Intel-manufactured board? CHeap, rock solid - fits the bill for him. Granted, no overclocking, but the most stable boards made - AND a 3yr warranty. Yes, I know Asus has a 3yr warranty, but Intel actually answers the phone. :D

The Intel D845PESVLR is a great board, almost all boards will have some level of integration, this one has LAN and sound. Can accept 3.06 HT procs, and DDR 333, for future expansion.

Intel D845PESV Specs

Cost ~$115.00.

Intel's support is no better than any other big mobo company's. After you get through the 3 stages of auto reply form letters, the person you talk to will tell you everything wrong is your fault because Intel boards are perfect.

The Intel boards are another excellent option.

There are SO MANY different P4 boards that you can buy, that you'd be very happy with. The differences between the majority of them are pretty much negligible.

I looked at that board and liked it.The only thing that i didn't like was the fact that it syas its up to 2.2(2.4) and im planning on upgrading to over 3 in about a year and half so reather get a board that will support 3g board then having to buy a new one. Thanks for everyone comments.

if you're looking for the fastest right now I'd check the SIS655 at newegg from Gigabyte that is $112.

If you're not looking for the fastest solution and want to go on the cheap get a 845PE board like the Albatron PX845PEV Pro or something

:)

Exactly! Dual DDR for $112!!! Plus you get firewire/USB2.0/ and DDR400 support out of the box!
