What infomercial products do you own?

Last nite there were two shows on about infomercials - the one about the industry was interesting, the one on Discovery with Billy Mays and that other guy was boring, except when they cut the car in two.

So, have you ever bought a product from an informercial? And did it work, or was it just junk?

Ive never called in, but I got a microwave pasta cooker at a garage sale for fifty cents, the seller said it was junk and yep, it was.

I've bought some things, don't remember the name but I bought a shredder with attachments. It makes awesome french fries and makes grating cheese so much easier. I pop different discs on the bottom and can get different cuts. A whole potato to Waffle Fries in 10 second is pure win. A well spend $15. I also bought the Sugar Ray Lenard Slam Man Boxing Machine. Not exactly a "wow" Billy Mays type product. But it was on a late night informercial. I love it. I also bought Oxy Clean, before it became popular and they started selling it in stores. Stuff was kick ass.

I think I bought the same pasta cooker, except I like it 🙂
It may basically be a green Tupperware with strategically placed holes, but it makes pasta in the microwave easier than using a bowl. good $10 investment in my view

I also have one of the micro-grills, although I didn't order it from TV. That works really well to. I'm satisfied with it
note: I only have a microwave to cook in, so things that allow me to cook things I would need a range/grill to do easily are a plus.

A couple other things my mom has bought, but most of those were junk.

I got a SmartSpin after seeing the infomercial (albiet at Target), and ending up picking up a second kit because I like it so much. Standard-sized lids ftw!

I also gave a Snuggie as a birthday present recently (also from Target), and ended up liking it so much I kept the second one lol. I use it all the time

does the Slapchop work well? My GF has something that looks almost the same and I couldn't get it to chop potatoes for shit. I'm still tempted to get a Slap Chop though lol.

I have a Foreman grill, have owned 3 in the last 11 years or so. I used to use them almost daily, but have since bought a house with a nice back yard and deck, and learned the way of the cast iron skillet, so now I usually use the skilled indoors or the grill outdoors (as long as it's not raining/snowing too hard)

like 5 or 6 years ago I bought a Pizzaz for my brother, he used it all the time, but it finally broke (due to my brother's carelessness.... lol)

I have a small George Foreman grill that I mainly use to make sammiches, but I bought it at the store not from the TV.

I have a tablemateII - love the thing, laptop stand at the couch, keyboard stand for my PC when I'm playing WoW on the TV.

I had a slapchop-like product a long time ago. They work well enough, but it's almost always easier to just use a knife. Cleaning it was annoying.

got some shamwows for christmas as a stocking stuffer

they damn near soaked up the whole Christmas season.

be careful with shamWOWs

Interesting. When I tried it, the water made it way too hot to handle. How do you deal with that? Because in theory, it's a good idea.

I guess I'm a Ronco fanboy -- have the Ronco food dehydrator and Showtime rotisserie oven. Both work quite well.

Oops, I forgot that OxyClean and the George Foreman grill were infomercial things - OxyClean is good stuff, and I like the grill too.
