What in your opinion makes a good computer technician?

* Someone that diagnoses a problem quickly,
* Someone that gives their clients as many options as is reasonable to fix the problem,
* Someone that is courteous and respectful,
* Someone that doesn't overcharge, but charges a fair price for services rendered.

I can tell you what separates great computer techs from the good ones:

Someone who can interpret or decipher what the hell the person with the problem is talking about.

How about what makes a BAD computer technician?
(as in what NOT to do)

A bad computer technician...
often says "In my 14 years of experience I have never seen..."

A bad computer technician...
relies on certificates, not skill or experience.

A bad computer technician...
badmouthes the competition.

A bad computer technician...
uses FUD as a selling tool.

A bad computer technician...
tells the customer they "bought crap" from somewhere else.

A bad computer technician...
is a fanboy and calls any parts that aren't his favorite brand "junk."

A bad computer technician...
lies when s/he doesn't know the answer.

A bad computer technician...
doesn't give estimates and charges hidden fees.

A bad computer technician...
hides behind an aura of mystique.
