TempDood, welcome to AnandTech Forums.

It takes a person with real character to admit a mistake. I hope you stick around. Our Overclocking Forum is pretty cool also.

In a way, I am sorry this got so blown out of proportion and was even made public enough to track you down. But I think no permanent harm done.

I would love too. Although I don't think I would win the Mr. Popularity vote right now. Although, I have visited this site numerous times. I think we should let things calm down a bit :)

Don't worry about the popularity contest. It took some balls to come over to Anandtech and post an apology.

Stick around, it is an awesome place.

I agree with many of the people in this thread, just email him back with this.

Sir,

I am sorry you are unhappy with your 1.0 gig amd processor you purchased from us. I understand that it runs at 1.2 gig without any modifications! Wow! That is a 200Mhz (20%) increase in speed over the original 1gig processor you purchase, but I understand that this extra 20% of speed does not satisfy your needs, and you mentioned that you have failed in OCing the chip. I have no information on overclocking processors, however, I'm sure you can contact AMD, and see if they can help with your problem with the chip not running at your desired OC speed. You can reach them at www.amd.com. Have a wonderful day.

sincerly,
XXXXXXXXXX

If he tries to return the processor, I would just simply inform him that by attempting to OC the processor, he has voided the warranty.

I would then forward the email, and the authors information to AMD, so this person cannot return the processor directly to them for any kind of warranty.

Regards,
Daniel

Class (especially new student TempDood), today we have a special lecturer who will discuss one of the more important rules in AT, reading the entire thread before posting...

everyone, let's welcome NWRMidnight (clap, clap) :)

edit: I'm sure our esteemed lecturer will suggest noting in one's post that one hasnt read the entire thread-that will be on the final!

Guys, I had not been back to the thread, so have not posted back.

Update: An apology has been received and, in spite of the initial email, I believe him to be sincere. We are working on an adjustment. BTW, I did not mention his name or handle, but apparently you guys found him on the other forums. I posted this out of my initial feelings about the first email. Case closed. It's resolved and this thread will serve no further purpose. I don't wish to tarnish anyones name here. My apology to you TempDood.

BTW, now that you are here, stay with us. :)

Ok, and I guess that someone needs to conduct a class that teaches posters that the time stamp is stamped when the post is posted, not when it is drafted. It did take me quite along time to draft it due to many interuptions, and to the fact that my DSL crapped out for a little while, I have no clue when it was actully posted after I sent it. The appoligy was only posted 2:45 and it is now 4:00pm. During the long process of drafting the response, and the problem with my DSL, I did not have the luxery of seeing the new posts. Had the appoligy been there prior to me starting the response, I would have not posted it. So, don't be so quick to judge someone just by the time stamp on the message.

Regards,
Daniel

sounds good-are you available? :)

of course, editing *is* an option-as of 4:00, when I, the undersigned, started drafting this post, your earlier post was still there ;)

now if you can just bring in a signed note accounting for the time delay in drafting your message you'll be excused from detention. class dismissed

Why edit my original post, when I still wanted to respond to your assumption? I just cleared it up with 1 post, rather then typing a correction in my original post, and then, repond with another post, to you.

Remember, when you ASSUME, it makes an ASS out of U! Understand ME?

Daniel

lol, that's not the way I remember hearing it...

k, im done with this thread now-nothing at all personal, but the original situation is cleared up so there's no point in bumping it anymore (beyond me getting the last word, of course :))...best of luck in drafting your future posts ;)
