A guy orders a 1GHz AXIA Tbird from my store. I am temporarily out of them, but could have them back in stock in a couple days. Bear in mind he orders a non tested chip, with no overclocking guarantee, just straight out of the tray. Being out of them, I give him the choice to wait, or I can send him an upgrade of a 1.2GHz chip, even at no extra cost, to try and help him and expedite things. I did that. Now this just in my email box from him:

<< I am just writing to let you know I am very dissatisfied with the 1.2 gig "Axia" I recieved from you guys. I originally ordered a 1 gig you you guys were out of stock and asked if I would accept a 1.2 gig in it's place. Well this cpu you sent was a Axia with a 9 on the 3rd line and wont even overclock at all. It almost seems as if i was shipped a dud cpu because you were out of stock of all the high quality cpu's. Maybe for future refrence you should specify if the cpu has a "Y" or "9" on the 3rd line. I will not buy from you again. I am a member of alot of overclocking forums such as Icrontic and ClubOC and will spread the word on my recent purchase! >>

Looks like a threat to me. I have zero desire to help people when they come at me like that. I did nothing wrong....at least that I can see. Did I? :(

If he was being civil about it, I might have offered to exchange it for something else, even though I don't feel I am obligated. Good lesson here....treat people the way you would like to be treated, and if you expect somone to help, be reasonable and polite. I always treat customers with dignity and respect. Wish it went both ways.

Oh my goodness sir looks like you have a genuine mental retard on your hands. You go out of your way and give this chump a free upgrade and he's not a happy camper. Please give me his email address so I can teach this moron a lesson in life. Damn ungrateful, greedy, selfish young punks these days. Now you know why I would never work at a job that requires public contact.

To be honest, if this guy lived within 50 miles of me, I would personally go to him and beat his ass with a blunt stick:|. Tell him that he bought an untested CPU, and that means you give no guarentee. If he doesn't understand that, and decides to be a little bastard, try and monitor the forums he frequents, and if he ever posts to flame you, link us, so we can all flame this prick:|'

Good luck with the ferengi

wtf? He did too "overclock" it. He paid for a 1Ghtz and is running at 1.2ghtz. Stupid people. Hell, he got 200 extra mhtz for free, and didn't even void the AMD warranty. Hell, if he wanted to he could have just turned around and sold it and bought another 1ghtz and made a few bucks.

I swear, this is why I do not serve the overclocking group. They think that they're entitled to more than they pay for, and when the luck of the draw doesn't go their way they blame you. :)

Oh well, tell him to go fsck himself and take his business, and his little whiner 15 year old friends' business elsewhere. :)

Sorry man, but if you can not deliver a out of tray 1GHz, you have to send a 1.4GHz at no extra cost that is overclockable to 2 GHz... customer is always right...

To me this case seems clear ;):p

Just delete him from your customer database after mailing him a decent answer... correcting, but polite... you know, what I mean...

You should have given him a Duron 700MHz. The email would go a little like this:

<<Thanks very much. Although the CPU has a lower clock I can overclock it to 950MHz! Wow! Wait till I tell my freinds. They'll be so impressed.>>

:p

Ignore him. I've bought from you, and you're a really great person to deal with. I plan on buying from you for all my heatsink and CPU needs. You've still got plenty of customers out there, you just got a dumb one.

How old is this person? When you write complaint e-mails itshould be at least more formal and serious. Instead he makes threats, and can't even spell "a lot" correctly.

Just tell him you are a member of the biggest computer community on the net, that will scare him ;)

Seems to me you did everything correct, just this customer is one of the hard ones who are never happy, I mean how can you ask for a non tested cpu and expect it to OC just because.

Just goes to show you........ the customer is not always right :p . When I used to work retail, I always got some dim bulb every once in a while. Don't sweat it because it's not worth it.

Cheers,

Actually, it sounds like he did beat him up, maybe too much, that would explain the loss of brain capacity :)

WTF, did he want to OC the 1 gig past 1.2GHZ? And what kind of noticable performance boost would he expect? Some of these OC'ers really need to get a friggin clue. It was great when only a few of us dabbled in OC'ing but now all the little computers weenies and Kiddie Gamers are OC'ing (like they'd actually notice the difference) and making the OC'ing community a joke.

For the record, I don't even bother to OC unless it woul;d make a significant difference in the Software I use. Going from 1 gig to 1.4 really doesn't deliver that much of a performance boost for the most part, especially when it comes to all these lame ass kiddie games.

Well that guy is a clear-cut idiot. Nobody worth a dump is going to listen to him on his forums anyway. Thats like complaining to a chevy dealership because when you hooked up a 100 shot nitro to your new cavalier it just won't work properly and you're pissed off.

yup, he's a tard...
If the person is a kid, just send him a nicely worded e-mails saying something to the extent "you got a great deal... 1.2 for the price of 1, and posting negative and untrue stuff about me will result in a liable suit on my behalf" That will shut him up

What a tard this guy is. If you don't buy a processor that's guaranteed to oc to a certain MHZ, you take chances. I bought hmm maybe a year ago? a P3-700 and I had an 820 board at home, wouldn't do 933mhz, I didn't write the place I bought it from griping to them about their cpus. I got what I paid for.
Though once I got my 815 board I was able to run at 933mhz. :)
