DEADAIM + AIM 5.2 (oldversions.com)

its the last worthwhile version of aim (though i hear v6 is supposed to be really cool, if bloated). Took me a long time before upgrading from 4.9

i just installed gaim cuz i switched from norton internet security to zone alarm and started noticing all sorts of annoying ads norton blocked but zone alarm doesn't touch. that and aim now seems to insist on poping to the front by itself to get more ads in ur face apparently. so far it works pretty well. kinda weird having to check off plugins for normal features like "system tray"..but i guess thats cuz its cross platform. and yea, less bloat, about 16mb used, instead of 25

QMTFT (Quoted Multiple Times For Truth)

I'm always on my XP machine as a daily user = trillian; i would'n doubt if there's something else better out there.
on my Linux box, it's mainly my firewall only machine... but i use gaim when im on it; once again, " i would'n doubt if there's something else better out there."
