Then I'd play some real life Carmageddon until I low on gas ...
Assuming that power was out, and gas stations were not able to pump fuel, I would then break into peoples garages and steal their gas cans .. and refuel my car to the best of my abillity to continue with Ramming speed.

Eventually, when I run out of fuel that is easily accessible, I'd try to get my hands on a gun, I don't own one currently, but I know my uncle has a few, and since he can only shoot one at a time, I'd take whatever firearm he was willing to share. (He has more than one 12 gauge, so most likely the cheaper of the two that he has.) Then I would kill as many as I could. Once out of bullets, I would have to resort to using a spade shovel, 14inch hunting knife, 10inch knife, and/or a hammer as weapons. I would fight my way to a place where I could get more fuel for the car, and/or more ammunition, and/or explosives, and/or some type of melee weapon with better range, perhaps a great big axe, a pitchfork, or if possible a sword. I would then fight until I ran out of energy. Then I put on my wizard robe and hat and ... hmm ... nevermind.

Forget the knives. Small cutting weapons don't work.

If you can swing large ones, like swords, they're ok, because the key word with zombies, my friend, is disabling.

They're slow to begin with, and not too durable, so you're better off with blunt weapons. Go for the skull, but failing that, try for knees, ankles, shoulders, and elbows. Anything to slow 'em down or render 'em immobile. In the event that you have to make an expedious exit from the infestation area, this makes it easier.

I'm a fan of the crowbar - used properly, it can provide all kinds of leverage, not to mention hard blows with lots of follow through. Just get the hook end in at the base of the skull, and yank...

About the knives, The only reason I mentioned them is because I own them, and they are easily accessible. I'd probably be best off using my big spade shovel to decapitate ... kinda like in the game Postal 2. Hmm ... currently don't have a crowbar :( Though I have one of those great big + shaped tire irons from Sears ... it weighs a good amount .. I could probably bash some zombie bones with one of those. Also, I have a propane grill and duct tape. I could probably fashion some type of extremely dangerous and stupid - flamethrower type weapon with the propane ..... that would be cool.

I also have about 5 or 6 gallons worth of 80 proof or better liquor between all the bottles ... Could also use that in a flamethrower :)

Also, there are some pretty bug stones near my townhouse. I am pretty good at throwing stuff ... so I could hurl the bowling ball sized stones at them pretty fast shot put style ...

OOOOH ... even better ...

Rip one of the boards out of my fence, Nail a bunch of really really long nails into it .... and use it as a mace!!! That would be great fun. I even have a box of hugeass nails (for fixing mf fense when boards come off) ....

This thread is giving me so many great ideas.

The tire-iron would work really well, as would the 2x4 with a nail in it (underrated weapon). Forget the rocks - more trouble than they're worth, you need something reusable.

Just remember, with zombies, the name of the game is stopping power. You don't have to kill, you just have to put 'em down long enough to displace to a better fighting position.

On the subject, Doom 3 disappointed me in that you could kill the zombies. I thought it would be much better if they did the deal like in the leaked alpha where the zombies would get back up unless you stood on 'em. Anyone know if that was ever modded in?

Reference "Dawn of the Dead." Barricade my self on the roof of a gun shop and snipe zombies.

I've given it some thought. I'd hide in a substation. You'd be surrounded by razorwire topped fences, a shack with light/AC (here in NV, at least). Plus, you'd have power and telephone access that'd last as long as there was some power on the grid. Then, I'd grab a truck and make supply runs.

I would get together with a few friends and I would go jack a Hummer H1 or a fast german AWD car...RS6...A8L. Then we would head to a super walmart and barricade ourselves in. Block all entrances, doors, etc. And we would just live in there doing whatever we wanted, eating what we wanted, shooting zombies from the roof.

Not a bad plan.

I would buy from the local wierdos who sell you guns and gun upgrades in zombie-infested towns. You know, the ones who somehow dont get attacked but are EVERYWHERE, even in dungeon pits where people are sent to die.
Welcome stranger.....

Perhaps getting assistance from the Vampires would be smart in the event of worldwide zombie attacks???

A few questions though, I have discussed this in depth with my co-workers, however, still there are some questions that are yet to be answered.

1.) Vampires are way smarter and faster then zombies. They are much stronger, and have great reflexes. I do not think any vampire would allow itself to become bitten by a Zombie, unless it wanted to, or unless it was somehow forced to do it perhaps by another vampire. When that happens, I wonder what would happen to the vampire?

Does the vampire get slowwer, stupider, and less powerful ... like a half zombie-half vampire?
Does it turn into a super-vampire-zombie .... perhaps sorta like the geneticly altered ones in Blade 2?
Or, since Vampires are already technically dead, and zombies are dead, are they immune to each other's bites?

2.) What happens if a Vampire bites a Zombie?
is Zombie blood any good for a vampire, or is it no good since it's disgusting rotted freshL
Does the Zombie become vampiric if it's bitten by a vampire?
Are zombies immune to vampire bites?

3.) What happens if both a zombie and a vampire bite someone at the very same instant?
This has me totally perplexed. I have never seen a real Zombie or Vampire, let alone seen someone get attacked by BOTH at the same instant. I imagine they would probably become like, a super evil zompire of doom. One that could only be defeated by someone with a cape and Wizard hat...

Thoughts?

i would think the best place to survive zombie attacks would be to take the castle approach

a nice big open grassy field with big compund it the middle with one or more sniper towers and with big enough area inside to farm food and maybe livestock

you could mine the perimeter and even build a moat if you wish

with the open area and mine field in the immediate perimter and a clear view that stretchs a few miles with no place for the zombies to hide you would be safe for a while even if they zerged.

you could also have various walls with in the fortification to keep falling back if they do get in....like in return of the king.

plus the usual hidden tunnel to saftey backup plan just in case.
