Because, lately, we haven't used any WMD's on our own citizens or our neighbors, and the only time we did, we were in a world war with the other side.

Rumor has it, all they'd find is a missle silo -- you know -- a big empty storage place. ;)

LOL.

Also the americans didn't use biological weapons on neighbouring coutries.

Ms Crow is a bit tit for that t shirt. More bs from people who don't know........

Wrong. They would run to Kofi Anan and demand that the U.N. send its crack troops in to disarm us. We would, of course, comply out of fear that we would be occupied, our government dissolved and a socialist republic set up in its place. Oh, wait, we already have the Democrats trying to do that to us.

There would be a military coup d'etat if anyone attempted to forcefully send in troops and the President complied.

Heck, the UN tried to send in people to inspect our prisons when they have no real authority to do so, needless to say, it didn't happen. Even liberals see the light once in a while.

We have nukes.

We'll fire them before we give them up.

We are the dominant military power.

If they try to take us, we'll ruin the world 3x over with radiation before we disarm.

I'd have it no other way - the blood of tyrants and patriots may be spilled for true freedom.

You kind of said this as a joke.....but it is true. What are the U.N. inspectors doing there? They are searching every military base in the country. Do British inspectors search Area 51 for illegal nukes?

Also, why is it "illegal" for Iraq or North Korea to have nukes, but it's fine if we do?

Iraq lost the Gulf War, in the cease fire agreement they signed they agreeed to disarm all chemical, biological and nuclear weapons.

N. Korea in 1994 signed a treaty agreeing that they would not develop nuclear weapons in exhange for food and oil. They broke that treaty.

Would you care to expound on your statement? I see nothing wrong with the post you seem to object to.

Does the fact that a teacher does not seem to have a clue as to world history and the politics of the last 60 years bother anyone else.

idNut, it is a stupid question. Please do this. Research the history of WWII. Do some research on the Manhattan project. Then move onto Stalin and the Cold War and the concept of MAD(mutally assured destruction). When you can discuss those topics with some knowledge, then come back and ask your question again.

How could you justify "we'll ruin the world 3x over with radiation before we disarm". What would give you the right to do this? Your military superiority?

These children have been brainwashed since birth by liberals willing to appease at any cost. I fear you are preaching to a wall when you try to reason with them.

Because good teachers always ask questions - it provokes thought. However, your teacher should not have left the question as he/she did. You might want to do a little more research as suggested - but, then take the answer back to your teacher and get some bonus points.

We are not "allowed" to have these weapons. We have them, period. Iraq, when it lost the Gulf War, made agreements that it would not develop such weapons and it is required that they do not, exactly because of stated loss of war. North Korea can have all of the weapons it wants. They did sign a treaty not to develop them in exchange for assistance, which they recently broke. We can choose, along with other nations, to view N.K. as a pariah nation now and do all of the wonderful things within our power to make life difficult for them.

As far as I know, it is not "illegal" or "not allowed" that other nations have nukes. India has them, Pakistan has them, Israel has them, Iran is trying to develop them, etc. All of these nations can be looked upon as potential trouble spots but they are certainly under no obligation, loosely speaking, to not develop these weapons. We, and other like-minded nations, can choose to deal with that situation as we see fit through various means of applied political and economic pressure.

Actually I was not quite correct. N. Korea had agreed earlier to not develop nuclear weapons

North Korea (DPRK) formally accedes to the NPT and agrees to open a new 30- megawatt research reactor facility to IAEA inspections and safeguards.
