What if LOTR sucked?

Didn't they record all 3 of them at the same time?

What if the first one was worse than Gigli at the box office?

Would they pump out the other 2 anyways? Or do you think they would have but cut their losses?

Isn't that a huge risk to tape all 3 at once?

Of course, we all know that LOTR is like the best movie(s) in history D), but I was just wondering what if...

They didn't do all at the same time, some overlap though. Also, the post processing stuff would have been canned, etc.

I enjoyed 1 (true to the "spirit" of the book) and thought 2 was...well a good movie, but nothing like the book. I have hopes for 3...but it will probably be a good movie as well.
