Nah I think they just sit around getting drunk with cheap beer and playing "pin the donkey" while only wearing underpants, yes yes I know it sounds wild & wacky.

bah, mods just have this overlay on IE with a giant "Vacation" button that they click at random intervals

That reminds me...when f@tw@llet first switched over the fusetalk after the coupon fiasco..I was asked onboard to be a moderator. I still don't know how it happened but one day this newbie showed up in the moderator forum and starting replying to topics dealing with certain posters. We were like, "who the hell are you?" Strangely, he didn't even realized it was a restricted area and had somehow unwittingly exploited a bug in the software that allowed non-moderators to have moderator access. It was said at the time it affected anandtech too. Never learned how he did it though.
