I just cant figure it out, why is it, as a Canadian, I have to pay more to ship WITHIN Canada by ground, than I do to ship to the US by air? If i didnt know better id say the US had control over our postal system:)

Well duh. You'd make all mail carriers ride a frozen yak. They should get 2 during the holiday's for the extra load!

It's the prohibitive costs of the tank escort.

I just got a big bunch of campaign crap two days late courtesy the USPS. I wonder if those guys can sue? I know some of them lost. Maybe my house is too hard to find...particularly for the low-IQ guys playing letter-carrier.

Because the imperialistic, war mongering, non Kyoto treaty signing corporate special interests who run the US have convinced the gullible US voter to go along with their evil plot to cut down the rain forests, interfere in the postal affairs of other nations, and exploit the third world poor in order to feed our addiction to cheap mail service.

Just think what a big effect it would have if instead of those huge, road blocking monstrosity mail trucks we use now, how much better we'd all be if we switched to smaller, more sustainable mail carrying vehicles. Like a wheelbarrow. Or tonka truck.

Of course it's the me and the Republican party that protects the US Postal Service. I like the PO because it's a socialist organization filled with dedicated employees that get and take sh!t both from their employer and the public and keep on chugging to deliver the mail. hey do a stupendous job, just like most people do in any job, but maybe even more so because so many depend on them for their livelihood. Morons, those who feel so insignificant themselves that their only joy in live is elevating their own inner feeling of worthlessness by putting down others, will always point to the inevitable flaws we all have and create in our all too human endeavors.

The Republicans like the PO, because most of their constituents live in Hickville, where education and culture have yet to penetrate. They rely on the high profitability of delivery in the densely populated Democratic cities of the country to subsidize the delivery of mail to Uncle Thud somewhere 25 miles west of Podunkville Kansas out there on county road 31.

Because Republicans and conservatives aren't known for deep analysis, they easily fall for the temptation to attack the very socialism that benefits them the most. Be sure though, that when their party deregulates the mails and the hick belt has to pay it's true cost of delivery, a different scream will begin to be heard.

Bluefront, where have you been? Anybody can sue over anything at all. It's getting it to court and winning that's the trick.

I think the USPS is unfairly denigrated as well. However, I don't think it's so much a Socialist organization as it is a natural monopoly.

xuanman, I don't think it's socialist either, but it gets whipped that way by the right wing who fail the postal exam. The Post Office is like a crack pot meter. It attracts nut cases critics by the boat load.

Hello....X-Mam I'm going to assume that's some cultural reference I'm unaware of like maybe the TV show thingi at the bar where there's a mailman. Is it Friends or something?

hammer09, the USPS doesn't use a dime of tax payers money.

They also likely drive road blocking hog vehicles because they buy American and are probably prevented by law from buying Japanese which already builds small economical cars with the driver on the right side. But that's a guess.

Confirmed....Moonie goes Postal.

"hammer09, the USPS doesn't use a dime of tax payers money. "

Well then, since tax-payers aren't buying the stamps, who is? I'm very curious as to which particular job at the post office Moonie can handle.

Letter Carrier.....Nah, he'd have to go outside.

Sorter.....Too dangerous, hand could get caught in machinery.

Counter person at post office....Maybe. They're always in the back somewhere, or on break.

Motor pool.....Could he fix anything?

This is tough. What is it Moonie?

Sorry, Bluefront, they don't hire 15 year olds. I just love the PO, though, for it's power to flush out nut cases. I get the same thrill out of France, the NAACP and other loony-button pushing entities. And as an arch conservative I hate people who run down America and America's great institutions. Ben Franklin is one of my heroes.

Knew that, ELFenix, but I just wanted it clear that the USPS is not supported by tax dollars least the US bellyachers further embarrass themselves with similar complaints.
