What I think is wrong with our tax code

I was talking to a buddy of mine who is whining about only getting 5K back this year, between him and his wife. I ask them how much they paid during ythe year and he responded 3.5K total, so he is getting more that he paid in and is still complaining.............and the people on the right want more tax cuts for the lower class

You don't get a tax refund larger than the taxes assessed on you, so either he's gotten the numbers wrong, or the IRS will be paying him a visit in the future.

The guy in this thread earned between 10-11000 paid 600 in and said he is getting 3000 back because of this EIC. It doesn't sound fair to me.

such is life. Just imagine how his kid will be when daddy is still pulling in $10k a year when the kid is 16.
