I just got a job in a new call center that opened up in my area doing Customer Service for DISH Network. I'm currently in the training, and was just wondering what has been everyone's experience with them? Any horror stories? Good Things to say? Also anything YOU the customer would like to see, that I may be able to bring up?

We have had it for about a year and the only complaint i have is that we can't get the sports packages. Football (direcTV only), baseball or hockey packages. That sucks.

We have Dish Network, I love it. No problems whatsoever, except we lose reception when it rains, and when the wind blows really hard, I have to climb onto the roof to realign it. Other than that, it rules. I can remember when we only had the 4 network channels that we got off of the antenna. Out here in the boonies everyone has Dish Network or DirectTV...it's heaven. :p

I've got the football package from Dish Network. Expensive though. $99

Ahhh so you joined up with our Harlingen call center. Working for the company isn't bad really, especially when you're at a center like Harlingen. You see I work at Riverfront (corporate HQ) and we take the tougher calls. Yours are typically going to consist of customers wanting to add/remove programming, make payments, sign up new customers and such. Most of the time it'll be a fairly simple job, there will be the occasional call that you might need help with but I doubt it'll happen often. Call volume wise you can expect a good bit of it and be kept busy. We used to take some of the calls you're taking now and most of them have been directed to Harlingen nowadays.

I didn't know that. Dish Network should have the same programming options as DirectTV for it's customers. You tell them that and get back to us. :p

You're probably talking about the College football package. He's referring to the NFL Sunday Ticket, and if you think $99 is expensive then it's nothing compared to the $220 that you pay for Sunday Ticket.

Granted we don't have NFL Sunday ticket, nor do we have a baseball package although I suppose we might be able to get one. But haven't you heard of our NHL Center Ice package? That's a pretty darn good NHL package.

I'm not sure which league it is, probably NCAA. Roommate is buying it and the sunday ticket (@ his parents house). I'm not home enough to watch it or care, but that's about all he does.

Does anyone else ever have to realign their dish? Ours seems like it moves pretty easily when it's windy. My mom and dad were freaking out a couple of weeks ago because they couldn't watch the Nascar race on Speedvision, so I had to climb up to the dish to move it.

Haven't touched the dish in a year. Of course it is in a corner by the side of the house. Wind really has no way to hit it.

Yea, the trainers/GM's/and QAM are from the Thorton center. Some of them are relocating here, while most are going back. Funny thing was, I used to work in the same building. It used to be leased by a company called RMH that did MSN tech supprt. They eventually went under, and Dish bought the building (brings me confidence... Why lease a place if you plan to stay there you know?)

Glad to see someone else on the boards works there too - thanks for the help in our calls!

No kidding. Also, why are the movies on PPV always movies that came out on DVD a month ago? Why can't it be like a hotel and show movies that just got done playing in theaters? Why do I type so fast when I'm near inebriation?

Thing about DirecTV's Season Pass is it only covers all the game untill the finals. The local stations have the contracts for the Finals.
