hey, i wear a tie every day, i go to many buildings driving all over and it is cold so i wear a leather coat. my question is, what kind of hat should i buy to wear? the temp is about 20-30 degrees out every day now it's winter. sometimes it will be colder. my dad says one of those leather "driving caps." i looked it up on wilsons leather website and think this makes me look like grandpa. is this the way to go? my dad isnt a white collar worker, i do not know anyone that is, and those that i know i have never seen them wear a hat. i only seen lawyers and think that is the hat they wear when they wear a hat...

i do not have that much hair on my head since i am to lazy to put gel in it and maintain it, i'm really looking for a hat of some kind that goes with a my black leather coats that will keep me warm, i do not use earmuffs or need them.

There are tons of options. I like a fur hat. Very classy and toasty warm.

Dump the leather (not warm enough) and get cashmier overcoat and wear with your fur hat. Super classy and a nice look.

One of those fur Russian hats. That way you can call everybody comrade and nobody will think you're weird.

Go into some stores that sell suits and other men's business wear and overcoats and ask to see their hats. Hopefully, you will be attended by someone reasonably aware who can coach you. Try on and model a variety. By the time you've gone into 6-8 stores, you may have some good ideas, maybe sooner. Good luck.

black or brown ear muffs that the band goes behind the head

wont mess up your hair, and looks fairly neutral

Heisenberg, it will be 20-30 degrees most of the winter. maybe 3 times it will be in the teens. i dont think a russian fur hat is an option, since i live in new jersey, i'm trying to look professional. not like a comedian. if i saw someone like that in my town, even saying "comrade" to people, i'd laugh my ass off for about 15 minutes straight.

Just get a woven skullcap that matches the color of your jacket.

That's what I do. I give more merit to function than fashion. Most "fashion" hats don't keep your ears covered or warm.

go with the 180 (degree) earmuffs, they keep your ears nice and warm and you can still wear ipod earbuds!

i have wore a woven skullcap last year, and all the years prior while i worked and went to college, and even high school. they are the best. i have very little hair on my head, so that doesnt mess it up anyway, and keeps my ears warm, etc. i think i might just do that again this winter.

does anyone who wears a leather coat, wear a hat? if so what kind of hat?

I have one of those. Play golf in it. Wouldn't work below 40 degrees.

That is my answer, but I was embarassed to say. Lately I even wear a watchcap to bed. If it gets real cold, I just pull it down over my eyes and ears. Will it "look" OK with a leather coat? Dunno. I have a black leather jacket but I just about never wear it. I just got it because (1) it was on sale and (2) so many cool people wear leather jackets. It's really not my lifestyle, though. I'll wear it once in a great while when I go out.

I wonder if it's too late to cancel my order. :(
