If this is a repost deal with it. I searched about 3 different ways and found nothing.

Link

I copied it over below. [begin rant]I know that many will blame pornography, many will blame the networks for putting on shows like the Victorias Secret Fashion show and some should put partial blame on the teacher (yes, I said partial).... I just hope that the authorities will hold the real culprits responsible. THE MOTHER AND/OR FATHER!!! It is time that the parents are held to the higher standards they should be held to.

For a child to do this in public at age 5 screams that she sees or experiences this on a regular basis. The fact that the boy allowed it is another indicator that there are some problems in his family too. PARENTS... IT IS TIME TO BE PARENTS AND CONTROL THE LIVES OF YOUR CHILDREN.[/end rant] Just be glad I didn't get on my soapbox.

Report of sex in kindergarten investigated

Saturday, November 23, 2002

BY PETE SHELLEM
Of The Patriot-News

Harrisburg School District and county authorities are investigating allegations that a 5-year-old kindergarten girl performed oral sex on a male classmate in school last week.

City spokesman Randy King said the incident took place Nov. 15 in a classroom at Melrose Elementary School.

It wasn't clear yesterday where the teacher was at the time. She left a memo for the principal detailing the incident before she went on leave earlier this week and has yet to be interviewed. King said the teacher has a terminally ill relative and is out of town.

District officials learned of the incident after a classmate told her mother last weekend. The mother notified school district officials Monday, and they immediately launched an investigation.

Harrisburg police have turned the matter over to county social service agencies because of the age of the children.

There will be no criminal charges, King said, because of the children's age and because the act was not forced.

"However, Children and Youth Services will be investigating the matter," King said. "Children of this age who engage in such conduct don't necessarily get this from television."

The boy's mother contacted the news media yesterday, saying the school district was being unresponsive to her inquiries about the incident.

The mother, whose name is being withheld by The Patriot-News to protect the identity of the child, said that when the girl who performed the act was questioned, she admitted she had done it.

The mother said she wasn't immediately notified, and after she was, district officials told her the matter had been turned over to Dauphin County Children and Youth, told her to get her son counseling and refused to discuss it further.

She said she is concerned for her son as well as the girl, because she feels a child exhibiting such behavior may be being abused.

"This isn't kids fighting or cutting up in school," the mother said. "This is a serious matter."

District solicitor Nate Waters said that while the incident has been turned over to social service agencies, it is still not clear exactly what happened.

"Nobody that I have talked to has assured me that these things have happened," Waters said. "We don't want to keep on moving on with hearsay from 5-year-olds. We're currently attempting to contact the teacher and get some answers."

Waters said he doesn't doubt the incident took place.

"We're trying not to sensationalize 5-year-olds having sex," Waters said. "We don't want to alarm people who have 5-year-olds in classes all over the city.

"This has never happened before to my knowledge and very likely is never going to happen again," he said.

I grew up with a woman who ended up spiraling down into a pit of drugs and madness.

Of course, that didn't stop her from having 3 children! One father ended up in jail, the other wasn't much better.

The woman's father was a prominent doctor in our community and he gave her everything she wanted and needed... when she was a teen, she wrecked the Mazerati and so he bought her a brand new Camry. He always had the best drugs available and would smoke pot with her and some of her friends, but he never did with me (I think he took one look at my parents and thought the better of it). His second wife (her stepmother) had the biggest, realistic dildo I have ever seen in my life by her bedside table. They were really open about those things. He even bought his daughter breast implants after she felt shapeless from having 3 children. But, at one point, before she had her kids, he decided she was doing too many drugs and put her in the STRAIGHT program. He became one of the board of directors. She only got worse after that. It was really scary.

I used to babysit for her occasionally (Daddy paid for that, too)... I did my regular thing with Sesame Street, nursery songs, etc. She would come home and turn on MTV... and entertain men I would never even consider inviting into my home. And she always thought that there was something wrong with me. I remember watching her change her son's diaper and 'thumping' his penis with hostility. She thought it was funny. I thought it was tragic. I told her she shouldn't do such things.

One day, she told me that she woke up one morning to find her 3 year old son trying to give her cunningulus. Of course he had seen various men doing this to his mother. She thought it was hilarious. I told her it was horrible and that was pretty much the last conversation we ever had.

Last I heard, the father of her youngest child got custody. The other two were taken from her by the State... but put in her father and brother's care...

I try not to think about it too much. But I'm not very good at forgetting.

I think that's terrible.... That just goes to show how society is getting worse and worse. I do understand that it's an extreme case, but it's scary when I think back to when I was that age. I remember being intrigued by crayons and their wonderful flavor and not even knowing what sex was or how I came to be. For that girl to take the initiative, it makes me think that her parents or guardians must have something to do with it...they should be questioned thoroughly.

Thanks. :)

You know, I met her when I was 12 and for a few years, I thought she was the luckiest girl in the world... rich, beautiful, with a young, "cool" dad and step-mom... and I was always hurt that I didn't get to smoke pot with them like her other friends. I didn't know why I wasn't included! I was the Jeanean Garafolo (sp?) sidekick who always felt kind of dorky around her.

Now I realize that I was the lucky one, with my older, old fashioned parents who couldn't afford many luxuries and sure as heck wouldn't be getting me and my friends intoxicated!!!!

I saw her youngest about 3 years ago... the little girl's father has custody of her now and she was in my daughter's kindergarten class briefly. Oh, she looks just like her mother! I took her to the movies and to Chuck E Cheeses... bought her some clothes and let her know that I love her. I haven't seen her since, though. I moved... and to tell you the truth... I'm a little scared of her mother. She's not above violence, and I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to lash out at me. We didn't exactly part on good terms. I'd rather she not know where I live. :(

As for her two older kids... she damaged them both by drinking while she was pregnant. I can only hope and pray that the school system has done something for them. I know it was the school system who finally blew the whistle and notified the state. I did send an anonymous letter to the school asking the teachers to PLEASE take a close look at the kids, and it was only a year or so later that action was taken.

<---going to go get her mind off this now

Isla - It takes a strong person to turn them in. I am glad you did and wish there were more people like you and me that are willing to do this when they have solid proof. I had a neighbor who would beat her child. The 6 year old would come over and play with my 5 year old. I would see the marks accross her back when they swam in the pool. I would see the bruises around her wrists from being yanked around. You would hear the mom scream and yell at night (husband worked nights). I called the school and sent a certified letter to them asking that they observe and evaluate the child.

They finally did. The state put the child in protective custody. The husband came by a few days later and thanked me. I can only assume that the school told them a neighbor alerted them. He is still a good friend and it turned out that the mom was dagnosed as bi-polar after the courts ordered her evaluated. The husband said he had noticed her getting aggrivated easily lately and just assumed it was stress because of financial issues. She is getting better and they have the girl back. I am glad I notified the school because I don't know how bad it could have gotten.

When I was in kindergarten a girl said "you show me yours and I'll show you mine..." so she showed me hers and I got freaked out and ran away, LOL. Keep in mind I am 36 and that was a LONG time ago, now I will run towards you if you say that, hehe.

That story is quite disturbing though, how do they even know about that so young? My case was just a simple curiosity thing.

:) I'm glad you had the compassion and courage to help your neighbor. That's what a good neighbor is! I tried for a while to help my old friend myself, but all it did was make her hate me for being 'judgemental'. I only wish that I had said something to the authorities sooner... I was a lot younger then, though. I won't be so patient if there ever is a next time!
