What has MS just done to my win 10 install?

I came home to a rebooted Win10 boot. Logged in and apparently I have a new background desktop?

And now my firetv stick can;t find any of my shared folders.

Can anyone shed any light on what has occurred before I send a rage email to the overlords?

I know I can fix the desktop background, I'm not an idiot. It's the network permissions I have an issue with.

Check your update history. As to the media it's probably the patch that disabled smb v1.

I'd say this, but that Win10 patch was released back in 2022 wasn't it? I'd be more concerned about a flaky network device/connection failing, a storage device issue, or your network being hacked.

Of course, Windows pulls all kinds of random weird crap anyway just because MS apparently thinks we need more stress in our lives.

They rerelease the same crap repeatedly for those of us that deny them access. I disabled Wu and blocked msft by DNS as well to prevent their BS. Things are smoother when you're not troubleshooting things weekly.

True, for sure.
