I think Bush has done a good job with regards to Education. The economy has recovered well since the recession of 2000; many Canadian companies are losing business to US companies.

Other than that he has been a pretty brutal president. Huge government spending, poor stance on social issues (luckily nothing has/will pass), not to mention all the intelligence fvck ups.

Have any of those companies lost business for good reasons or because the dollar is tanking and transportation costs have skyrocketed?

That was the likely factor...but Canada was an attractive place to do business for that exact reason. Canadian leaders have been credited with the attraction of business...same with the US; whatever happens under Bush's watch he gets credit for.

Ohh yes, how we forget so quickly how Bush gutted higher education grants and loan programs to fund his phony war.

Lets not forget the disaster that is No Child Left Behind. Not to mention the record number of children in summer school. Hey, don't forget Jeb's great experiement in FL that is failing.

Education under Bush

Wow, an article from a year ago. An article that points out the "facts" from one source and it ignores them from the ultimate source, teachers. I know about 15 teachers, *NOT ONE* like NCLB. It forces them to teach around tests or through inefficient means and not what is really good for children. It's barely funded too, not enough to do what really needs to be done.

Lets get this straight. The Bush economy is one built off of debt. Debt is nothing but borrowing revenues from the future. It's even worse than the Clinton economy built off of stock market wishes.

A safer, more secure country for starters...

If not securing our borders, increasing the number of would-be jihadists, giving NK and Iran supporting rational for nuclear programs, and putting us deeper into China's pocket makes us more secure - then yes, you would be correct...

I hope for your sake you were being sarcastic.

Let me ask you this, how do you qualify/quantify better? Better is arbitrary. This thread is just flamebait.

You know what has gotten better? Stupid people have gotten better at whinning about their crappy lives. Stupid people have gotten better at blaming all their problems on the president and the government. Stupid people have gotten better at fighting about issues rather than discussing them. Stupid people have gotten better at ignoring the opposing viewpoint. Stupid people have gotten better at finding facts to support their own position and arbitrarily discarding opposing facts.

Should I continue? Or do you know who I'm talking about yet? That's right, YOU!

I've been doing a lot better since he took office. But then again I'm not one to give the President credit for everything that happens in my life.

The clarification that the only thing worse than a tax-and-spend Democrat is a borrow-and-spend Republican.

You'd have thought we'd have learned that lesson in the 80's. Bush makes Reagan look like a piker.

You know what is real funny Utah (A Red State) is rejecting Bush's "education progress" and they are ranked as one of the best states to get an high school education.

Nothing has gotten better...in fact, he's made things worse, domestically and across the world. He's promised great things, and many times I actually found myself hoping they were possible, but they've all failed miserably.

I still believe those things are possible, but not with Bush! We either need new leadership ASAP, or we need to withdraw to our own borders, concentrate on eliminating all need for foreign oil, and wait for Bush's term to expire, while giving the rest of the world some time to remember why they needed us, and why things like the UN were ever even possible, in the first place.

Wahhhh!!! Face it, Bush has hurt the Republicans image aa much as he has hurt this countries image. If I were a Republican I'd be furious with him, hell if you are a patriotic American you should be furious with him. He's their Jimmy Carter.

Less telemarketing calls!

That do-not-call registry thingy seems to have worked well. I know it has in my case. We used to average several calls a month. Now we've had maybe a handful in several years.

I'll congrat Bush on that.
