What happens when powering off a pc during windows update configuration?

in the splash screen that says installing updates, do not turn off computer. has anyone done this?
i'm curious to see how it reacts...
 
Hit the reset button and shut it down while it rebooting. It will usually roll back the install so you have to do it over if want to continue. Of course it could corrupt it but generally it works.
