I really want one thing, and that is to see the weapons Bush knew about before the war, the ones he used to justify it. I want to see what we were told about BEFORE the war.

Ah yes, the 'concrete proof' that he kept saying he would release 'soon.' I would like to see it too.
Bush gambled that Saddam didn't get rid of his arsenal and lost, and now has egg on his face. Those "mobile weapon labs" turned out to be for pumping balloons. If weapons are to be found it better be a whole sh!tload to justify what happened. A few empty chemical shells and a dirty flask won't cut it.
"I guess if WMD are found" - listen to you. Guessing and ifing. All BS. No WMD so you have to fantasize about your man. "Oh, George. I'll defend you even if it means imagining you find WMD!"
You take too much for granted. Don't let all that O'Reilly Factor and Rush garbage get you all worked up and into something you can't BS your way out of.

I saw a refernce somewhere that the fermentors were used to produce hydrogen. That story still just does not make sense to me. Iraq has at least one large refinery complex. It would be easier and cheaper to produce and bottle hydrogen there than some mobile fermentation process.
Do you have a link that proves that Iraq went to all of the trouble and expense of mobile fermentation labs just to produce hydrogen for ballons?
Truth be told, I never gived a damn about the WMDs. The fact is Saddam was a security, strategic, and economic threat. He had to be dealt with and he was. This was supposed to be Clinton's job, but he deferred it to a later date, forcing it upon Bush. Clinton failed and Bush did the job. Come what may, this country is better off with Iraq in a better position.
As for the effeminate moniker, with all your bitching and whining, you wholeheartedly deserve it. You are as soft as they come, and there's a lot of them in NYC.

Oh, and Clinton wasn't responsible for Saddam. That would be Bush 1. Clinton was left with the mess the opther Bush couldn't finish.

For me, all of this is a red herring.
Where is the evidence we were told we had that was used for the justification of the war? Where are those weapons and sites? If they find 30,000 H-bombs after the fact that would still not demonstrate evidence for the need of war. Weapons we were told existed. Weapons that we could put our hands on, because we knew where.
Where are THOSE weapons. Where is THAT proof?
clinton was responsible for saddam because bush did not want to depose saddam because of the immense influence iran would've had in the eventual outcome. Bush senior backed off, keeping saddam in place to preserve the stability of the region. instead of thanking him and abiding by the truce he signed, saddam became arrogant again and challenged the US/UN. Clinton, mindful of the new order that Bush senior had established, should've dealt with that rodent rather than chasing interns. The second gulf war should've occured as late as dec. 1998. but it didn't and hussein got more brazen. clinton looked weak in front of everyone.

I think that it is a bit much to say that Bush himself lied, on his own. I believe he was just going on intelligence that was given to him, and that is where everything got messed up. If I recall, no other nation doubted that Iraq had WMD, even France. Intelligence services throughout the globe shared the notion that Iraq had and were producing WMD.
the reports bush sr. was receiving actually jibed with the events on the ground in the wake of iraq's mass retreat. if i recall correctly, 15 of the
19 iraqi provinces were in revolt. beyond a core of republican guard divisions, saddam had no armed forces to rely on. the kurds pressed from the
north, disaffected iraqi personnel from the south, numerous coup de'tats were in motion, saddam's fall appeared imminent.
the u.s. gave somebody in iraq a vague promise of 'support' - that never materialized - but no firm commitments, for fear they did not have an
academic grasp of the players who were vying to fill the soon-to-be-empty iraqi throne. bush politicos seem to have feared the huge unknowns.
why such unknowns existed and why a more dedicated effort was not made by bush and company remains a blight on their record.
it will never end the democrats will always find excuses to bash bush and his adminstration over desperation.
If WMD are not found the repubs will find other reasons why the war was still needed.
Point is Intelligiance is always risky at best. You just have to take what you get and try to make the best decision you can.
Of course you will only hear about bad decisions more then good ones for obvious reasons...
But its hard for many people to keep an open minded opinon on things...
