they do in NYC. in fact... on more than one occasion, i have seen UPS trucks get towed in NYC. Packages and all. My father owns a business that does a lot of work in Manhattan, and he says he sees it all the time, too. NYC is ab*tch.

When I was in college, I saw a city cop write a ticket for a city garbage truck. Seemed to make a lot of sense at the time ;P

wrong, every UPS or fedex truck you see in boston has at least 5 tickets hanging off it someplace
where are they expected to stop in cities ? Do they just accept the tickets and pay them as part of the cost of doing business ?

Fresh Direct (grocery delivery company) pays tons of parking tickets in NYC. The consider it a cost of doing business.

It's unionized. They just threaten to strike if it costs them a dime.

If it's a speeding ticket, the driver gets a promotion.

haha

That is fedex, UPS gives them a promotion for only reckless driving or something that causes the packages to bump against one another.

wow that's astonishing, so many tickets just for the cost of doing business. so when people ship packages to nyc, is there some type of additional calculation that takes that into account? i've never shipped ups or fedex so i don't know how their shipping rates are.

my co-worker says that it's the work of local tow companies. they spot something to tow, then they call the traffic cops to write a ticket so they can make the tow.

Usually they have commercial license plates which permit them to park just about anywhere...
