What happens if you get caught driving without a license?

They eat you alive 🙂

You get some sorta arrest or fine...they prolly have to arrest you since if u have no licence they cant let u drive back home huh?
 
My mom only had a learners permit for many years when I was a kid and once in a while she'd drive to the supermarket or wherever without my dad in the car. Well one day someone rearended her and the cops gave her a $50 citation, (this was in New York state back in 1984). She did get her drivers license soon after at the age of 38🙂 I'm sure they weren't as harsh with her because she was a middleaged woman, not some reckless 15 year old taking dads car on a joyride.🙂

if you dont have a liscence here, you can't get your liscence for two more years, and there might be a fine..
 
Well, I believe that the fine for driving with a suspended license is either $250 or $750 here (can't remember which), but I don't believe there is any mandatory jail time as a sentencce. Though I have heard of people being taken to jail and their car being impounded once ticketed.

As for not having a license period...I'd say most likely $500+ in fines, your car impounded, and a day or two in jail. Sounds about right to me.

PENALTY FOR DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE
Driving without being licensed is a class B misdemeanor. The penalty is a fine up to five hundred dollars ($500) and/or six months in jail.While driving in Tennessee you must have your driver license in your possession to display upon demand to any law enforcement officer.If you do not have your license with you, you may be fined not less than two dollars ($2.00) and no more than fifty dollars ($50.00).

 
Those are some goofy-assed penalties. Goddamn. People driving without a license should get some serious frigging penalties as far as I'm concerned. I'd almost say that driving without a license in most cases (ie, never taken the test) is less safe than driving with a license while legally drunk - and we all know how bad drunk driving is!
 
That really depends on each state.

From what I heard, it's

First offense, $200 fine
Second offense, $500 fine, 30 days of free rent, food and sex.
Third offense, $1000 fine, 90 days of free rent, food and sex.

And your license will be suspended or revoked in each offense.

I drove without a license for almost 3 months. Damn, I was so stupid, thanks God I never got caught.
