what happens if you cancel a format in progress?

I just built a new system, and I put the win2k disc in there and it is now formatting... but it is taking forever. it's been like 30 minutes and is at 22% (Seagate Cuda 80GB). I just remember there is a utility from Seagate that works on a boot disk and formats and partitions quickly. If I canceled the format job, would it hurt anything?

<< not really, just delete the partition, and then do whatever you want .. good luck ..

roger that
note - 80 gig takes awhile
XP allows a "quick" and "slower" format, and they recommend the slow one for some positive reason. Fast works though.
