What happens if I don't remove a splinter?

Got a small splinter the other day, and I just can't seem to get it out. It seems to be getting deeper and harder to see. Will my body eventually just disintegrate it? It's wood. It does not really hurt unless I'm playing a lot with it.

This is a fairly common problem with wood.

What happens is that you forget about it, until you touch something just right and it hurts like a motherfucker.

At least that's what happens when I get tiny pieces of metal in my hand.

Just keep an eye on it, if it starts to look bad don't wait and go to the doctors. Or you know be a man and dig the bitch out.

Didn't you see "The War of the Worlds" (new one with Tom Cruise)? It'll work itself out son.
